This site is devoted to honoring the work of Viola Spolin who codified her theater games into a training method and philosophy that changed the face of American theater for the past four generations.

The ability to play is with us from birth. Acting for the theater evolves naturally out of playing. Recognizing this source of energy, Viola Spolin has applied the game form to theater disciplines and has arrived at her widely acclaimed Spolin Games technique. Her work opens the theater experience to people of all ages and interest.
